PDF to Excel — tables exactly as in the original

Drop a PDF and get the tables as a real spreadsheet: merged cells stay merged, column widths and borders survive, and numbers become numbers. The file is parsed in your browser and never uploaded.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • The file never leaves your browser
  • Export to .xlsx, .docx and the clipboard
  • No OCR — scans are honestly refused
🎉 The service is now completely free
No limits, no sign-up, no payment — convert as much as you need. Want to help with the server bills? Buy us a coffee ☕

What actually lands in Excel

We do not pour text into cells: the grid is rebuilt from the lines drawn in the PDF, so merged cells, borders, fills, bold text and alignment carry over into the workbook. Every table found becomes its own worksheet, labelled with the source pages.

  • Merged cells and multi-level headers stay where they were.
  • Numbers like “1 234.56” become real numbers; codes with leading zeros stay text.
  • Column widths and row heights follow the original.
  • A single table can be copied and pasted into Excel, Word or Google Sheets.

From PDF to Excel in three steps

Choosing the file, checking the result and downloading the workbook takes less than a minute even for a long report — the conversion runs on your device, with no server queue.

  • Drop the PDF in: up to 200 MB, no page limit.
  • Compare the result with the original — every table card has an “Original” button.
  • Download the .xlsx with “Excel” or “Download all to Excel”, or copy the table.

Where the converter stops

The limits are honest: there is no OCR, so a scan or a photo without a text layer cannot be recognised. Password-protected PDFs and tables inside images are not supported either. If the header row or the row-number column should not go into the file, that is controlled in the table card — “Header rows” and “Drop columns on the left”.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert PDF to Excel without uploading the file?

Yes. The PDF is read by the browser and the .xlsx is built locally: nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored. The only network request when the page opens is an optional country lookup used to pick the interface language; ?geo=0 disables it.

Are merged cells and formatting preserved?

Yes, when the table is drawn with lines. The grid is rebuilt from them, so merged cells, borders, fills and column widths carry over. When there are no borders and columns are detected from text alignment, the structure is worth a quick check before exporting.

What does it cost, and do I need an account?

Nothing: the service is free, with no sign-up and no conversion limit. Hosting and development are covered by voluntary donations on Ko-fi and Boosty.
