Frequently asked questions

Which PDFs are supported?

Any PDF with a text layer: invoices, reports, price lists, exports from ERP systems and Excel. The file is read entirely by your browser, there is no page limit; the only limit is size — up to 200 MB (files from 40 MB are accepted, but take longer to parse).

Can a table be extracted from a scan or a photo?

No. There is no OCR in this service: if the PDF has no text layer, there is nothing for us to recognise, and the app says so explicitly. Run the scan through OCR first (for example Adobe Acrobat or ABBYY), then upload the resulting PDF.

How do I export a table to Excel or Word?

Use the “Excel” and “Word” buttons in a table card, or “Download all to Excel/Word” for the whole document. In .xlsx merged cells, borders, fills and column widths are preserved; numbers like “1 234.56” become real numbers, while codes with leading zeros stay text. In .docx the table keeps its proportions and wide tables switch to landscape automatically. Instead of a file you can press “Copy” and paste the table into Excel, Word or Google Sheets.

Do I need to sign up, and what does it cost?

No sign-up and no payment: the service is free with unlimited conversions. Hosting and development are covered by voluntary donations on Ko-fi and Boosty (the buttons are on the page); no account is required for them either.

Where are my files processed?

In your browser. The PDF is never uploaded: parsing lines and text, generating .xlsx and .docx all happen locally, so your documents never leave your device and are not stored on a server. The only network request is a country lookup used to pick the interface language; you can disable it by opening the site with ?geo=0.

What are the limitations, and what if a table was recognised inaccurately?

Not supported: scans without a text layer (no OCR), password-protected PDFs, tables inside images, and files larger than 200 MB. If the structure is not perfect, fix it in place: double-click edits a cell, “Header rows” and “Drop columns on the left” control the export, “⤒ Merge with previous” joins a table continued on the next page, and the crossing removes a block that is not a table.
